Jacksonville Jaguars Released David Garrard

Before the start of the season, Jacksonville Jaguars made an excellent move. Starting quarterback David Garrard has been released making a "pure football decision" that will save the franchise $ 9 million in 2011.

In a news conference last Tuesday Afternoon-September 6, Head Coach Jack Del Rio said: "He just wasn't able to get it going this pre-season for whatever reason."

Jack Del Rio will turn the starting job over to Luke McCown, who conquered Garrard and rookie Blaine Gabbert in the pre-season.

Team owner Wayne Weaver said that the Jaguars must carry out the playoffs for Del Rio to stand out for any 10th season.
