1,913 pass 2011 bar exams

MANILA, Philippines -- (UPDATE, 3:21 p.m.) A total of 1,913 out of 5,900 passed the bar exams, the Supreme Court announced on Tuesday.

This makes for a passing rate of 31.93 percent.

But SC spokesman Midas Marquez said the list of those who passed the bar will be released on Wednesday at 2 p.m. as scheduled.

This will be the earliest release of the results of the bar tests after the format of the examinations was changed from essay type to multiple choice.

Marquez said that the results of the bar exams are usually released every month of March or before the summer session of the SC magistrates is conducted in Baguio City.

The 2011 bar exam was held for the first time in the University of Sto. Tomas.

At a press conference said this batch of bar examinees scored the second highest rate in the history of bar examination. The highest was in 2001 with 32.89 percent.
