MANILA, Philippines -- A security guard and a gunman died in a shootout during a foiled armored car robbery rat the Alabang Town Center in Muntinlupa City Friday.
Muntinlupa police chief Senior Superintendent Ramiro Bausa said the armored car was about to deposit money at a bank when three gunmen tried to rob it past 11 a.m.
However, the two security guards escorting the vehicle engaged the robbers in a shootout, foiling the robbery.
The second guard was wounded and was rushed to a hospital.
