Ramona Bautista Placed On Red Notice List

MANILA, Philippines — Fugitive Ma. Ramona "Mara" Bautista, principal suspect in the October 28 murder of her brother, Ramgen Bautista, has been placed to the "red notice list" of the International Police (Interpol) to further restrict her movement abroad.

National Bureau of Investigation-Foreign Liaison Division (NBI-FLD) chief Lawyer Claro De Castro Jr. has confirmed that Ramona was transferred from the Interpol's "blue notice" list to the "red notice" list after the Paranaque City Regional Trial Court (RTC) has issued a warrant of arrest against her and her other siblings accused of killing the actor last January 18.

An Interpol blue notice is a request for information about a person involved in a crime while a red notice, which was the closest instrument to an international arrest warrant in use today, is a request for the provisional arrest of wanted persons, with a view to extradition.

"Since the court has already issued an arrest warrant, we deemed it necessary to ask the Interpol to place Ramona's name under its red notice list from the blue notice so that we can further restrict her movements," De Castro said.
