TV5 ladies' man Kean on good terms with exes Alex, Danita, Arci

MANILA, Philippines – Actor-singer Kean Cipriano may be regarded as the resident ladies’ man of TV5. Three of the Kapatid Network’s lovely leading ladies - Alex Gonzaga, Danita Paner and Arci Munoz – have been his girlfriends.

But, he insists, he’s no playboy. The Calla Lily vocalist insists, “Hindi ako babaero. Nagmamahal lang.”

Kean smiled when asked about the seemingly aborted relationship with Alex Gonzaga. It’s been said that even if they worked together on the TV remake of “P.S. I Love You,” the old feelings just aren’t there anymore.

“We shared some things together that no one’s ever gonna know. Kumbaga, things happen. And we’re very much okay now.

“I’m happy that we got stronger. I mean, as friends.”

Alex has lately been teased about being on good terms with Cris Tiu, her co-star in “Toink” at TV5.

Does Kean feel jealous, especially on hearing that Alex has admitted having had a crush on Cris before? “Wala naman akong kailangang pagselosan, e.”

What’s stopping him from winning Alex back? “Nothing. I don’t know. You know me, I don’t talk much.”

Is there someone else? “Ako kasi in love na in love ako sa music ngayon. Do’n ako nakatutok right now. Kasi magri-release kami (Calla Lily) ng bagong album.

“So I’m putting myself there in that zone where whatever happens, I’d be inspired by myself.”

Does he have regrets that the special relationship with Alex was nipped in the bud? “Ang importante, kami ni Alex okey kami ngayon,” is the cryptic reply.

Asked to comment on impressions that he’s a playboy or someone who can never take a relationship seriously, he replies: “Hindi naman siguro… ako, I refuse to take that. Kasi hindi naman ako babaero, e.

“Napagbibintangan lang, e!” Kean laughs out loud.

“Kumbaga hindi rin naman biro magmahal, e. Baduy na kung baduy. Cheesy na kung cheesy. Pero…hindi naman biro magmahal.

“Kasi ibibigay mo ang sarili mo do’n, e. Di ba? Ang totoong lalake, marunong magmahal.”

Unfortunately, he adds philosophically, “when it doesn’t work out, there’s nothing you can do.”

Was this the case with Alex? That he loved well and gave everything of himself?

“Hindi naman!” he laughs again.Ilang percent lang ng sarili niya ang ibinigay niya kay Alex? “Hindi ko alam!” replies Kean.

“I don’t wanna gauge. You know how it is? Ayoko ng gano’n. So lahat sila (na naugnay sa kanya), kapag nakikita ko masaya kami.

“Si Danita (Paner na naging girlfriend din niya), nakita ko kanina sa Robinson’s Galleria. Nagkuwentuhan kami. Kumustahan kami. Alam mo ‘yon?

“I’m just happy we shared something together,” he adds, referring to the women in his life.

“And I’m happy. I learned a lot. And I love them. I still love them as…you know.” Kean shrugs his shoulders.

He and Danita are unattached these days. “She looks happy. I think she’s doing something now with TV5. So I’m happy for her.”

Will he be ready to work with Danita if there’s an opportunity? Or with Arci Munoz?

“Why not? Yeah! If the project is right, and it fits my schedule, why not?”

Then adds: “Kung mahulog lahat sa lap ko… game!”

What if there’s a project with all three as his leading ladies--Danita, Arci, Alex?

“Wow!” is his short reply.

Kean may not have won in the Breakthrough Performance By An Actor category in the Golden Screen Awards of the Entertainment Press Society, but he says he’s happy enough being nominated for his role in “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank.”

It’s his first nomination as an actor, he notes, and “Nakakatuwa na nanu-notice ako sa pagsabak ko na rin sa acting. I think I’m just very blessed to have a good management, a good family, a good circle of friends.

“Parang ang ganda lang ng balik sa lahat ng ginagawa ko. I appreciate everything that’s been happening,” he concludes.
