LeBron James arrives in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – Four-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) LeBron James of the Miami Heat arrived in Manila late Monday afternoon.

James was on board a private jet and arrived in the country at around 5:45 p.m. He and his entourage embarked from a private hangar and went straight to a hotel.

James, who won a second straight NBA championship with the Heat last June, will meet the media in a press conference on Tuesday.

He will also make a special public appearance, although Nike has yet to provide details of the event.

An event at the Mall of Asia Arena, dubbed “Witness History,” will be the culmination of James’ one-day visit to the Philippines.

Last week, thousands of fans lined up at the Nike Store at The Fort in Taguig to get free tickets for the “Witness History” event. -- Report from TJ Manotoc, ABS-CBN News
