Women's 10-Ball: Fisher, Kim hurdle respective foes

MANILA, Philippines -- England's Allison Fisher and South Korea's Kim Ga-young trampled their respective opponents in the ongoing Yalin Women's World 10-Ball at the Resorts World Manila on Friday.

Fisher, who is looking for her first World 10-Ball title, won easily in what might have been a battle against South Korea's Cha Yu-ram.

“The Duchess of Doom” capitalized on Cha's error for a 2-0 lead, her first over the South Korean in over 3 years.

This shook the monkey off Fisher’s back as Cha continued to commit errors, allowing the English cue master to take an easy 6-2 win.

Meanwhile, South Korea's other darling Kim cruised over South America’s No. 1 Mirjana Grujicic.

Grujicic managed to keep it close at 3-2, before making a crucial mistake on an easy 9-Ball.

Kim pounced on the opportunity, played flawless billiards and won 6-2.

Earlier, the tournament’s inaugural champion Rubilen Amit blasted Bi Zhuqing of China for a 6-4 win.

The event, organized by Dragon Promotions, airs live daily from 11 p.m. – 8 a.m. EST on www.insidepool.tv and is broadcast worldwide by ABS-CBN Sports and its affiliates.
