Spurs beat Kings, stretch win streak to 12 games
SACRAMENTO - Italian playmaker Marco Belinelli scored 17 points to spark the San Antonio Spurs to their 12th NBA victory in a row, a 99-79 triumph Friday at Sacramento.
The win streak is the longest for the Spurs since November 1-24 of 2010, and boosted their NBA-best record to 52-16.
San Antonio also collected a ninth consecutive victory in meetings with the Kings, an 11th win in a row at Sacramento, and their 30th win in the past 33 meetings with the Kings.
Kawhi Leonard added 15 points for the Spurs, who also had 14 points each from Argentina's Manu Ginobili and Frenchman Tony Parker.
Tiago Splitter contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds for San Antonio while Tim Duncan added 10 points, six assists and nine rebounds for the Spurs.
Isaiah Thomas led the Kings with 18 points while DeMarcus Cousins contributed 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Kings, who fell to 24-45.
