Classic Pinoy movies featured in film festival in Italy

MANILA - For two nights, the Philippines was able to feature high quality films to both Filipinos and the Italian public during the 20th edition of the Isola del Cinema Film Festival.

Held early this month at the Isola Tiberina in Rome, Italy, the festival showcased "Insiang", "Sakay", "Himala", and a documentary film on Philippine Marine Biodiversity to the public for free.

Ambassador Virgilio Reyes highlighted that the Philippine film industry has an abundant talent of artists.

The ambassador likewise thanked the European audience, particularly the Italians, for their support to Filipino films and film makers.

The festival also provided an opportunity to showcase the rich, diverse and beautiful culture of the Philippines through dance, songs, and a display of modern and traditional Filipino costumes.
