D-Link introduces cloud router

MANILA -- Major networking solutions provider D-Link recently introduced the DIR-880L, a wireless AC1900 dual-band gigabit cloud router in the local market.

“The DIR-880L is D-Link’s first ever AC1900 router, adding on to our suite of premium networking solutions. Equipped with additional features such as mydlink and SharePort, the router is a reliable multi-tasker that allows owners to control and monitor usage, share and upload files over the air with supporting mobile applications that are free on the Apple App Store and Google Play,” Jonathan Quek, marketing director for D-Link International in a media statement.

Equipped with the advanced AC SmartBeam technology, the company said the AC1900 now is capable of boosting sound for connected devices and has a fast speed of up to 1.9 gigabits per seconds – four times faster than the previous N standard.

For cloud storage requirements, Quek said the AC1900 also has mydlink SharePort functionality to enable users a reliable and secure personal cloud for file storage and sharing at home.

For parents concerned with their children’s net surfing activities, Quek said mydlink is capable of blocking website unsuitable for children to keep parents’ minds at ease.

Furthermore, Quek said the mydlink SharePort app allows users to instantly share documents, movies, pictures, and music with connected mobile devices simply by connecting a USB storage device to the smart router.

Its intuitive interface provides immediate connection to a variety of entertainment options stored securely on the user’s storage device. Moreover, the router supports USB storage devices of up to 1 terrabit, making it a secure personal cloud storage solution for the family.
