Engenius offers easy cloud service via apps

MANILA -- Wireless communications and radio frequency expert Engenius Networks Singapore Pte. Ltd. recently introduced the Engenius cloud service intended to attract more home users to its cloud-based devices.

Lawrence Lim, regional manager of Engenius, said its cloud service is an intelligent platform that allows home users to connect to their media and files from anywhere, stay synced with friends and family members around the world, and take charge in managing their own private network in simple, fast and easy manner.

Lim said EnGenius apps such as the Enviewer, EnTalk Lite, EnShare and EnRoute are developed to meet the consumer's most sophisticated lifestyle needs.

The EnViewer, for instance, can be an effective multi-functional home monitoring application, allowing users to monitor multiple EnGenius IP surveillance cameras on their network using tablets or smart phones. It can play back recorded videos on the user's device.

Nancy Bang, senior product manager of EnGenius, said the EnTalk Lite app combined with a cloud router enables free calls anywhere up to 10 hours. It has also speed dial functions and chat rooms so the user can communicate with friends and family.

Bang said the EnShare app allows users to manage remotely manage wireless status, adjust routers and check their network on their smartphones or tablets anywhere as long there is an Internet connection.

Meanwhile, Bang said the EnRoute app boosts the global positioning system to the cloud service.

"It is a valuable business tool for those who wish to quickly track locations and footprint records of business-related destinations for accounting and reimbursement purposes," she said.

Meanwhile, Engenius Networks also recently introduced its Neutron series of wireless management products.

Lim said the company entered the Philippine market because of huge opportunities brought by economic boom particularly in the business process outsourcing (BPO) and property development sector.

“The EnGenus Wireless Management Solution is perfectly suited for areas that require powerful wireless connections such as auditoriums, stadiums, lecture theaters and conference rooms,” he said, adding that Engenius can also offer its devices to the hospitality services such as the hotels, apartments and convention centers.

“Since we’re using wireless technology, Engenius can easily deploy the infrastructure for the internet needs of the guests,” he said.

He said local technology-centric business organizations across the enterprise sector can benefit in the deployment of Neutron series of wireless management products because it is a complete and scalable solution for operations aiming to deploy, monitor, and manage numerous access points (AP) from one simple and accessible browser-based platform.

Furthermore, the Neutron series provides centralized management capabilities and easy to install that does not even require an ICT expert.

He said the entry of Neutron into the Philippine market brings a breath of fresh air where enterprise-level wireless management platforms are costly and at the same time complemented by recurring subscription or licensing costs.

With Engenius, Lim said companies can have an affordable wireless management solution that can deliver a high-power performance and access several hundreds of indoor and outdoor managed wireless access points.

Bang also added thay small medium business segment in the Philippines is good market for Engenius because of its market size and in preparing for the ASEAN economic integration.
