'I'm no womanizer,' says cop in 'calling card scandal'

MANILA - "I'm not a womanizer."

This was the statement given by Police Chief Superintendent Alexander Ignacio upon his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Friday afternoon.

Ignacio, on board Singapore Airlines flight SQ 912, arrived from Malaysia at around 3:30 p.m. He represented the Philippine National Police (PNP) at the ASEAN Police Conference.

Ignacio requested that his photo not be published to avoid further bashing from netizens. He said people have already erroneously jumped to the conclusion that he is a womanizer following the "calling card scandal."

"My family, including my ailing mother, is badly affected by this scandal, and so I request for private moments with my family while the lawyers are preparing the documents for the formal filing of charges against the model Alyzza Agustin," he said.

He again denied having personal ties with Agustin, who stirred controversy on social media after posting on Facebook that she escaped penalty for violating the number-coding scheme by flashing the cop's business card.

He said Agustin is not his executive assistant, and is not in any way affiliated with his office.

He also stressed that the business card used by the model was not an official card representing his office.

Ignacio said he is planning to file charges against Agustin for the moral damages caused by the calling card scandal. -- By Raoul Esperas
