Mama Sita joins international food fair in Paris

MANILA – Local brand Mama Sita is looking to take its food products to the global stage as it joins the annual Salon International de l’Agroalimentaire or SIAL exhibition, which opens in Paris on Sunday.

SIAL, which runs until October 23, is celebrating its 50th year of providing “unique insights on the food industry, its trends and innovations, thus being able to define what will appear on the food market shelves in the future.”

Mama Sita’s is no stranger to the SIAL when it joined the ASEAN chapter of the food exhibition last June. In fact, Mama Sita’s All-Natural Davao Cacao Champorado and Ginger-Chicken Arroz Caldo were nominated for the Innovation Awards, which are given to products that make it through the SIAL selection process.

Peach Reyes, the granddaughter of Teresita “Mama Sita” Reyes, received the certificate.

These nominated products are just two of several Mama Sita’s products that will be exhibited at their booth in SIAL Paris.

It will also show its hot pepper sauce using the local siling labuyo, its line of tropical vinegars, inc;uding the sukang Iloko and Sinamak; its range of Seaweed Geli-Coolers, a take on the traditional samalamig in pandan, muscovado, and brown cane sugar flavors; and its tropical syrups using mango, guava, pineapple and jackfruit.
