Meet Anne Curtis' Hollywood leading man

MANILA - Anne Curtis remembers her first kissing scene with Germany-born actor Alexander Dreymon as "one of the most embarrassing moments" of her life.

In a live interview on "Aquino & Abunda Tonight" on Tuesday, Dreymon joined Curtis to promote the upcoming local release of their American-produced film "Blood Ransom" on October 29.

The film about vampires, directed by Filipino-American Francis dela Torre ("Subject: I Love You"), was shot in mid-2012 and marked Curtis' first international acting project.

Laughing, the 29-year-old actress blamed her lack of experience in foreign productions for her "awkward" first kiss with Dreymon, noting that she had been used to pretending to be more intimate than what appeared onscreen.

"It's so awkward [to talk about it]!" she said. "It's just that it was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life until this day. Because, you know, the Filipino film industry is different from how they do kissing scenes over there."

Curtis agreed when host Kris Aquino mentioned that, unlike in Philippine productions, it's typical for actors in American films to touch tongues when the script demands it.

"It took me a while to get it right," Curtis said.

"But he (Dreymon) just told me that this is what we have to do... He was kind enough to tell me that, 'This is not how you do it.' I was like, 'Oh, my god!' I started sweating," she said.

Dreymon added: "I wasn't embarrassed [to tell her]!"

The 31-year-old actor, who grew up in France and eventually settled in the United States, recently appeared in the Ryan Murphy TV series "American Horror Story" and is set to top-bill the BBC America historical epic "The Last Kingdom."

"Blood Ransom" will hold its premiere night on October 25, according to Curtis, and will have a North American release on October 31.
