Headlined by last season's Most Valuable Player Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, NBA 2K15 boasts an" ultra-realistic" gameplay feel and promises to be more "exciting and exhilarating" than its award-winning predecessor.
"It’s going to hit the virtual court with unprecedented and life-like graphics, ultra-realistic NBA gameplay, and much more," said Ron Aquino, general manager of X-Play, one of the country's leading video game distributors.
The game will be compatible with Sony's PlayStation 4, Microsoft's XBoxOne and PC, as well as previous consoles such as XBox360 and Playstation 3.
Among the key improvements from last year's NBA 2K14 are the addition of over 5,000 new player animations, an improved dribbling and shooting experience, and a smarter AI system -- on and off the court.
There's also a new game mode available called "My League," which offers both single season or up to an 80-year franchise experience where players can control over every aspect of how the league plays out.
The game also features a "My Team" mode where you can assemble a team composed of NBA's all-time greats like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Bill Russel and Wilt Chamberlain.
