Vice Ganda to undergo operation in January

MANILA – "It's Showtime" host Vice Ganda has opted to postpone an operation to remove a polyp in his throat to January next year.

Although he is currently doing fine, the comedian said he still needs the surgery to remove the polyp, which is affecting his vocal cords.

Kailangan ko mag-total voice rest after nun (operation),” he told ABS-CBN News on the sidelines of the 28th PMPC Star Awards on Sunday.

With his extremely hectic schedule -- aside from “It’s Showtime” and “Gandang Gabi Vice,” the comedian is rushing to finish the “Praybeyt Benjamin” sequel for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival -- Vice Ganda said he is just praying that he be given enough strength so he may fulfill all his responsibilities.

Asked if he feels pressured to replicate the success of the original "Praybeyt Benjamin" movie, Vice Ganda said: “Siyempre lahat naman ng tao, goal mag-succeed pero ang pressure kailangan i-take mo ng positibo sa sarili mo.

Aside from Vice Ganda, “Praybeyt Benjamin 2” also stars Alex Gonzaga, Richard Yap and James “Bimby” Aquino-Yap Jr.
