Speculations about Reid’s ties with Chiu’s sister surfaced last month after gossip blog Fashion Pulis posted a screen capture of a Facebook post supposedly made by a certain Wendolyn Chiu.
In the post, the two supposedly exchanged several text messages and it was accompanied by the caption, unedited: “kilig much!!!! hahahaha”
Speaking to ABS-CBN News on the sidelines of ABS-CBN's Christmas variety show on Tuesday, Reid stressed that he and Chiu’s sister are just friends.
“Nothing [romantic]. We’ve met each other a couple of times outside. We know each other through common friends. I’m just being friendly,” he said.
Asked if he is courting Chiu’s sister, Reid said: “No. I’m not dating anyone. Right now, no [I’m not ready to enter into a relationship]. I’m so busy I don’t even have time for myself. Maybe next year.”
According to Reid, the speculations about him and Chiu’s sister probably just got “blown up” because she is the sister of a very popular actress.
“I guess it was just a misunderstanding. I haven’t seen her for the longest time. She’s a common friend with Andi [Eigenmann]. That’s how we met,” he said.
Meanwhile, Reid said he is looking forward to 2015 and he is hoping it will be as fruitful as the past year.
“I never expected to achieve this much this year. If I can even achieve half of what I’ve done this year, I’ll be happy,” he said.
