'Pinoy Big Brother' returning for 10th year

MANILA - "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB), the pioneering reality television series in the Philippines, will return for a new season to mark its 10th year, a televised teaser announced on Wednesday.

The ABS-CBN program, which is based on the Endemol-owned format that premiered in Netherlands in 1999, has so far produced 12 "big winners" in the Philippines since August 2005.

Apart from the regular editions, which feature housemates 18 years old and above, celebrity and teen editions were also held in the past decade.

Among the past winners are Kim Chiu, James Reid, Ejay Falcon and Melai Cantiveros. Notable former housemates include Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, Bianca Gonzalez, Jane Oineza, John Prats and Rustom Padilla.

"PBB's" latest iteration, which was won by Daniel Matsunaga, marked a first across franchises of "Big Brother" internationally, as it combined adult, teen, and celebrity housemates in one season.

No further details about the 2015 season have been announced.
