Rousey, the first UFC women’s champion, admitted that she was giddy after getting a call from the magazine asking her to become one of its swimsuit models.
“When I got the call for the Sport Illustrated's swimsuit issue... I don't think I was speaking English, I was just shouting and shaking,” she said on “Ronda Rousey Uncovered.”
“I was so happy to have this opportunity because I really do believe that there shouldn't be just one body type for everyone inspire them to be… I guess I'm a person they'd inspire them to be that's why I'm in this issue,” she added.
Rousey was also featured in ESPN Magazine’s “2012 Body Issue” but this is the first time she is presented as a swimsuit model.
