Nadal, whose real name is Anna Katrina, married her Spanish boyfriend of four years, NGO worker Carlos Lopez, at Hacienda Isabella in Tagaytay on February 26.
Photos of the autumn-themed Christian wedding were released by videographer Mango Red online, as well as by Nadal on her Facebook and Instagram pages.
According to photographer Nina Sandejas, a close friend of Nadal, the "Huwag Na Huwag Mong Sasabihin" singer wore a P799 dress of her choice to the wedding.
"It was my first try and it fit me perfectly," Sandejas quoted Nadal as saying in a blog entry about the wedding published on March 2.
Noting that Nadal merely picked the gown from a mall boutique in Makati, Sandejas added: "The story about her dress floored everyone and this should show all brides around the world that sometimes it's about the woman and not the dress."
Wedding planner Chinkie Agregado, in a Facebook post, also pointed out that Nadal did her own makeup for the event. She narrated that a very "chill" Nadal arrived at the venue "just a few hours before her ceremony, wore her wedding dress then got married."
Nadal and Lopez's apparent decision not to spend extravagantly on the wedding carried over to the reception, according to Sandejas.
"At the party, everyone pitched in their contributions to the decorations," she said. "Artist friends helped out with the floral arrangements and even painted 'Carlos and Anna' on a banner in the early afternoon that even the groom helped set up."
Although not commonly known, Nadal, like her husband, has been active in volunteering in charitable organizations, which may explain their preference to keep the wedding simple.
"God knows how many people Kitchie has helped, the organizations she takes parts in, the programs she organizes for kids," Sandejas said. "You'll louse count on how many lives she's enriched and it's really funny how not that many people know about what she does."
