WATCH: Melissa Mendez offloaded after 'punching flight attendants'

MANILA - A Cebu Pacific plane returned to Manila Friday to offload actress Melissa Mendez for being drunk and attacking flight attendants during the flight.

Pageant titlist and rugby player Andrew Wolff, who was one of the passengers of the Cebu Pacific flight, posted clips on Instagram showing the incident.

One video, taken from an airplane window, shows boarding stairs being linked to the aircraft. In the caption, Wolff narrated what happened although he initially kept Mendez's identity a mystery.

"I've seen some crazy things in my life. I regularly travel on planes for work, but this has got to be probably one of the most ridiculous things that I have experienced.'

"A certain Filipina actress, past her prime may I add, decided to use our reserved seats on the plane. After being asked to move by flight attendants, the captain and even ground security she agreed to go to her seat (after 30 mins of cursing). Kept claiming she was some sikat na star dati with initials M.M. She smelled like a beer brewery, you just knew something was gonna happen....'

"Anyway, half way to our destination to talk to our programmer in Mindanao, this 'actress' decided to curse continually at my friend. She was given two warning cards by flight attendants, but didn't stop."

According to Wolff, Mendez "punched my friend and the flight attendants," at which point she had to be restrained.

"The captain announced: 'Ladies and Gentlemen, I apologise, but we have to go back to Manila due to one unruly passenger,'" the Philippine Volcanoes player narrated.

In the second video, Mendez's face was clearly seen. It shows a man, identified by Wolff as the pilot, speaking with the actress who then looks in the direction of the camera.

The pilot was quoted by Wolff as telling Mendez: "Hindi na, bababa ka na, hindi ka puwedeng sumakay. Nasaktan mo pati flight stewardess ko."

Before going out of the plane, as seen in a third clip, Mendez waved goodbye to the passengers. "At least the passengers were entertained," Wolff said, referring to audible cheers in the video as Mendez gestured.

Wolff noted that "20 ground staff were used just to offload one person," and that "fines include 500,000 pesos and 3 years imprisonment."

As of writing, Mendez has yet to issue a statement about the incident.
