Powerful women: Anne ranks among Beyonce, Taylor in Twitter list
MANILA - What does Anne Curtis have in common with international pop stars Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Beyonce?
The 30-year-old Kapamilya star, like the American performers, is included in the list of the "100 Most Powerful Women on Twitter," as ranked by Huffington Post UK and marketing company SocialBro.
Based on three filters from Kred, an influence measurement tool, the rankings take into consideration the user's influence (likelihood of her posts being acted upon), outreach (how active she is) and number of followers.
Curtis ranks 37 overall in the list, which is dominated by women from the music industry. They also include Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande.
The "It's Showtime" co-host placed just below Beyonce, and ahead of Thalia, Alicia Keys, Lindsay Lohan, Hilarry Duff, Emma Watson, Christina Aguilera and Adele.
"Way too cool not to share," Curtis said of the list. "I'm at #37 right after Beyoncé. Kilig! Thank you to my lovely followers on Twitter. Love this -- 'Influence is not just about followers: it's about how much you engage with other people to make an impact.'"
Curtis, who joined Twitter in March 2009, became the first Filipino to have more than 8 million followers on the micro-blogging site in April.
She remains the No. 1 most-followed account in the Philippines and now ranks 174th worldwide, ahead of the likes of Pope Francis, TIME magazine, Adam Levine, and Hugh Jackman.
