5 'Back to the Future' predictions that came true

MANILA – Today, October 21, 2015, is the day Marty McFly and Doc Brown arrived in the future in the 1989 science fiction film “Back to the Future II.”

The movie predicted a host of new technologies and products, from drones to hands-free gaming.

1. Hoverboards

“This is real, folks. This is a real hoverboard. So forget everything you know.” Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk was quoted as saying in a video released last year as he tried the Hendo Hover, a skateboard which floats an inch off the ground.

A year later, Lexus created its own version of the hoverboard called the “Slide,” which is almost the same as the one used by Marty McFly sans the funky ‘80s design.
