Honda recalls 2,500 Jazz, City units

MANILA - Honda Cars Philippines Inc. is voluntarily recalling more than 2,500 units for a software update, the Department of Trade and Industry said on Friday.

The automotive company is voluntary recalling 2,531 units of 2014-2015 models of Jazz and City to update the software of the vehicles' electronic control unit (ECU).

The update will prevent the high stress and breakage on the vehicles' drive pulley shift to avoid wheel lock. The service is free of charge and will take about 30 minutes.

Owners of these models are advised to notify or contact any of the 33 Honda authorized dealers.

Honda is fifth in the country in terms of market share, according to recent data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association.
