Twitter on Tuesday replaced its star-shaped ''favorite'' button with a heart-shaped ''like'' button.
Twitter said it replaced the star icon to avoid confusion, especially for new users.
''The heart, in contrast, is a universal symbol that resonates across language, cultures, and time zones. The heart is more expressive, enabling you to convey a range of emotions and easily connect with people. And in our tests, we found that people loved it,'' it said in a statement.

''You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favorite,'' the microblogging site said.
Aside from users of Twitter, users of the short-form video sharing service Vine will also experience the same changes.
Twitter also recently introduced a poll button wherein users can create their own polls, with two-option choices.
