WATCH: Conor McGregor spars with 'The Mountain'

UFC interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor has never shied away from any fight, and he proved it once more by going toe-to-toe with "The Mountain" in a recent sparring session.


Hafþór Júlíus "Thor" Björnsson, a strongman competitor who is best known for appearing as Gregor Clegane – or "The Mountain" – on "Game of Thrones," tried his best to catch McGregor, who was relentless in attacking the body of Björnsson.

Björnsson stands at 6-foot-9 and weighs 420 pounds, giving him a one-foot height advantage over the 5-foot-9 McGregor, who fights at the UFC's 145-pound weight division.

McGregor's fans will be happy to know that – spoiler alert – "The Notorious" fighter fared much better than Oberyn Martell did when he fought "The Mountain."
