Twitter brings back 'Black Lives Matter' emoji

Twitter is bringing back a special edition emoji in the name of the "Black Lives Matter" movement.

An emoji of three clenched fists in several shades of brown, now posted the emoji at the end of the hashtag, #BlackLivesMatter, made a debut in an account run by Twitter employees.

The account, Blackbirds, said they want to celebrate and encourage diverse perspectives.

The #BlackLivesMatter resurfaced after the shooting of Alton Sterling in Louisiana and of Philando Castile in Minnesota. Both were black men shot by the police.

"Black Lives Matter" protests that took place around the United States were mostly peaceful, but one gathering in Dallas was met with violence that killed five members of the police force.
