Summer idea: Easter pilgrimage to Tarlac

MANILA – Looking for something meaningful to do this April? Join an Easter pilgrimage to the Diocese of Tarlac on April 29, Saturday.

The pilgrimage by Green Faith Travels was “established for evangelization, ecology and heritage” and aims to create a community of pilgrims through spiritual journeys.

It will have participants pray at the following shrines and churches: Chapel of the Risen Christ in Monasterio de Tarlac in San Jose; San Sebastian Cathedral (Tarlac Cathedral) in Tarlac City; Diocesan Shrine of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus in Ramos; Diocesan Shrine of Saint Josemaria Escriva in Gerona; and either Our Lady of Ransom Parish Church in Tarlac City or Saint Catherine of Alexandria Parish in Gerona.

Pilgrims will have the opportunity to venerate the sacred relic of the True Cross of Jesus Christ in Monasterio de Tarlac, the only one of its kind in Asia and believed to be miraculous. The monastery of the Servants of the Risen Christ community also features a 30-foot statue of the Risen Christ.

A fee of P2,500 per person includes round-trip transport via air-conditioned tourist bus, breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon snacks, bottled water, juice packs and a pilgrim’s kit.
