NBA: Spurs rout Rockets to tie series

The San Antonio Spurs bounced back from one of their worst playoff losses by beating the Houston Rockets, 121-96, in Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinals series Wednesday night (Thursday in Manila).

Kawhi Leonard once again led the way for the Spurs with 34 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds as San Antonio tied the best-of-7 series at one game apiece.

Houston won Game 1, 126-99, last Monday, wherein they made 22 three-pointers. They were limited to only 11 triples in Game 2, with James Harden scoring only 13 points on 3-of-17 shooting.

However, the victory came at a price as the Spurs lost veteran point guard Tony Park to injury with 8:43 left in the final quarter. He had to be carried off the courts by his teammates after going down and grabbing his left knee.

Game 3 is on Friday (Saturday in Manila).
