In a post on its official Facebook account, Bayern Munich posted a picture of its club with the Philippine flag in the background, and the caption "Happy Independence Day" along with the Philippine flag emoji.
One of Bayern Munich's top players, left back David Alaba, traces his roots to the Philippines. Alaba's mother, Gina, is a Filipina, while his father is Nigerian. Alaba plays international football for Austria.
