NBA: LeBron tops Sports Illustrated's 100 best players for 2019
Whether he was bringing championships in Miami or Cleveland or now that he's starting over with an untested group of teammates in Los Angeles, LeBron James is the best player in the league.
At least, that's how Sports Illustrated sees it.
Its website came up with a list it calls "Top 100 NBA Players of 2019," a feature the sports-media group has churned out the past 5 years.
And every time SI.com put "the King" on the throne.
"Like Michael Jordan before him, James the athlete will eventually be eclipsed by his own legend. But as he prepares to lead a new team of prospects and misfits in a fame-obsessed metropolis, it’s clear that time hasn’t yet come," wrote Ben Golliver, who produced the article with Rob Mahoney.
The Golden State Warriors' Kevin Durant and Steph Curry finished 2 and 3, while reigning league MVP James Harden of the Houston Rockets was No. 4.
Completing the top 10 in order are: (No. 5) Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans; (No. 6) Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks; (No. 7) Russell Westbrook, Thunder; (No. 8) Chris Paul, Rockets; (No. 9) Joel Embiid, 76ers; (No. 10) Jimmy Butler, Timberwolves.
