Egg Recall Numbers

Wright County Egg issued a voluntarily egg recall yesterday because of possible salmonella contamination. Salmonella is a rod-shaped bacteria which can cause illnesses such as typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever, and the foodborne illness salmonellosis.

FDA advises many people worried and concerned of having symptoms. The contamination can come up with symptoms like fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

Eggs are packed under the following brand names: Albertson, Ralph’s, Mountain Dairy, Lucerne, Hillandale, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemps. Eggs are packed in different sizes of cartons like 6 egg cartons, 12 egg or (Dozen) cartons, and 18 egg cartons.

An end of each egg carton is stamped with a number starting with a P meaning "Plant". If the number on your carton is P1720 or P1942, look carefully at the three-digit number that follows it. If the number falls within the order of 136 to 229, the eggs are part of the recall
