Miss California Alyssa Campanella was crowned and took the title of Miss USA 2011 held at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Sunday night- June 19.The event was hosted by TV executive Andy Cohen and Italian celebrity news personality Giuliana Rancic. They were joined by Kellie Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy Osbourne and co-star of "The Osbournes," and Susie Castillo, who was Miss USA in 2003.
21-year-old auburn haired beauty has bested 51 other beautiful candidates from different state to take the title and she will represent the United States at this year's Miss Universe in Sao Paulo, Brazil on September.
Alyssa Campanella walked proudly with her dark turquoise beaded gown for the evening gown portion and a blue bikini with white polka dots for the swimsuit portion. In the final Q & A part, Campanella was asked how she feels about the legalization of marijuana. Her answer, "Im not sure if it should be legalized.... I mean, it’s abused today, unfortunately, so that’s the only reason why I would kind of be a little bit against it, but medically it’s Okay."
Alyssa Campanella was also the first runner-up in the 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant. She is originally from New Jersey. She moved to California in May 2011 and won the Miss California USA 2011.
