2 Pinoys hurt in Hong Kong road accident

Two Filipino nationals suffered minor injuries in a road accident in Hong Kong last Tuesday, the Philippine Consulate General said Saturday.

In a statement, the Consulate General described one of the injured as a Filipina whose photo was circulated on social networking site Facebook.

"She and another Filipino national figured in a vehicular incident in Central District on 24 January 2012 and suffered minor abrasions and hematoma. They were brought to the Queen Mary Hospital and were discharged on the same day," it said.

But the Consulate General said the woman whose photo was circulated on Facebook has requested assistance in stopping to the spread of her photo on Facebook.

It quoted her as saying the photo on Facebook has caused undue stress and embarrassment to herself and her family. The Consulate General did not name the Filipina.

"In this regard, the Philippine Consulate General appeals to all concerned to desist from further circulating the photo in question to protect the privacy and dignity of the Filipino national involved," the consulate said. — ELR, GMA News
