No damage to Roxas Boulevard seawall - DPWH

MANILA, Philippines -- The Department of Public Works and Highways(DPWH)on Thursday said there is no damage inflicted to the Roxas Boulevard seawall despite the recent storm surge brought by typhoon “Gener”.

After inspecting the area, DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson has ordered the department engineers to conduct a thorough inspection of the structure.

He also ordered the DPWH National Capital Region to conduct re-paving of damaged pavements as soon as the weather improves.

“On the areas recently paved, these asphalt paving works are covered by one-year warranty, thus, the contractors are obliged to do rectification or repair works at their own expense. If there is a need to remove and replace these newly- paved road sections, then, they should do it,” Singson said.

Tons of garbage including bamboos, tree trunks and other big debris carried by big waves hit and overtopped the seawall during the storm surge.
