MANILA, Philippines — From YouTube to Hollywood’s big screen, Charice has proven she has come a long way.
After the release of her upcoming film “Here Comes The Boom’s” official trailer, the international sensation is thrilled to promote her latest achievement.
“Check out the trailer for my new movie HERE COMES THE BOOM - in theaters October 12! http://www.Boom-Movie.com #BringTheBoom,” the “X Factor Philippines” judge-mentor posted on her official Twitter account, Sept. 6.
“and please join the official HERE COMES THE BOOM Facebook page at http://Facebook.com/Boom #BringTheBoom,” Charice added.
The comedy film, directed by Frank Coraci, stars Kevin James (“Grown Ups,” “Zookeeper”), Salma Hayek (“Grown Ups,” “Desperado”) and Henry Winkler (“Click,” “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan”). The film’s shoot, which wrapped up last year, took place in Los Angeles, California, and Boston, Massachusetts.
In “Here Comes The Boom,” Charice plays Malia Dela Cruz, Scott Voss’ (Kevin James) high school student. Scott is a biology teacher who is trying to save his school’s music program by raising money, moonlighting as a mixed martial arts fighter.
The 20-year-old former “Glee” guest star first appeared in the Hollywood big screen via 20th Century Fox’s live-action/animated film “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” in 2009.
On Singing With Cheesa
Meanwhile, Charice also took the chance to promote the single of former “The Voice” contender Cheesa Laureta, whom she considers as a friend.
Cheesa, a Fil-Am from Hawaii, made it to the Top 12 of recently concluded second season of the US talent search before being eliminated.
“Please don’t forget to support my friend, Cheesa! Download the song “I’M NOT PERFECT” feat yours truly on iTunes. :) Hope you like it,” said Charice in another post, Sept. 6.
The “Louder” hit-maker earlier confirmed writing a song for Laureta.
