Rommel Padilla asks Rustom not to have sex-change

MANILA, Philippines -- Actor Rommel Padilla is not losing hope that his brother Rustom Padilla will return again as himself and not as BB Gandanghari.

"Iisa pa din ang wish namin: sana bumalik pa si Rustom," Rommel said in an interview with "Umagang Kay Ganda," when asked about his brother's reported plan to undergo a sex-change operation.

Rommel admitted he talked to his brother in the hopes of convincing him not to pursue his plan.

"Ang in-advise ko sa kanya sa bagay na 'yan sana ay i-maintain na lang niya kung ano ang ibinigay ng Diyos," Rommel said.

Rommel added that he and the rest of Padilla family are happy that Rustom is back in show business but they are still praying that he would still change his mind about the operation.

"Masaya ako for him dahil sa nangyayari sa karera ngayon, bumabalik siya pero, well sana ay 'Tom (Rustom) o BB I hope at we pray na sana bumalik pa,'" he said.

Proud dad

Meanwhile, Rommel shared that he is really and proud of his son, Daniel, who's now one of the hottest young actors thanks to the top-rating series "Princess and I."

As a father, Rommel said he is always there to guide his son.

"Kailangan nga laging maglalaan ng oras sa pahinga and then 'yung working attitude kailangan maintain at 'yung disiplina," he said.
