A man was killed Saturday when he jumped from a moving vehicle on the
170 Freeway near Toluca Lake, closing a southbound lane for several
hours, authorities said.
The man jumped from a vehicle near the intersection of the 170 and
the 134 Freeway shortly after 4 p.m., and he was possibly struck by
another vehicle, said Officer Tatiana Sauquillo of the California
Highway Patrol.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the man's name or any other information about him.
A middle lane on the freeway was closed about 4:30 p.m. and was not
reopened until after 7:30 p.m., Sauquillo said. She said there were no
