MANILA, Philippines – Former heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem
has bailed out of his UFC 160 fight against Junior Dos Santos after
suffering an injury.
According to
MMA Fighting, Overeem sustained an undisclosed injury while training, which will sideline him for up to five-weeks.
This has promoted the Dutch fighter’s camp to call off his scheduled faceoff against former champion Dos Santos.
It is the second time the Overeem-Dos Santos fight has been
postponed. The two were supposed to fight in UFC 146 last year but
Overeem wasn’t able to secure a fight license after failing a Nevada
State Athletic Commission-ordered drug test.
