John Lloyd thankful for new Box Office King title
MANILA, Philippines - In an Instagram post by his girlfriend, Angelica Panganiban, actor John Lloyd Cruz expressed his gratitude for his new Box Office King title.
Cruz and his long-time leading lady Bea Alonzo, who celebrated their tenth anniversary as a "love team" with the romance-drama film "The Mistress" last year, were named Box Office King and Box Office Queen, respectively, at the 44th Box Office Entertainment Awards by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Inc.
Cruz has been hailed as the country's all-time Box Office King based on the grosses of his previous films, which saw him paired with Alonzo, Sarah Geronimo, Toni Gonzaga and Angel Locsin.
In a photo uploaded by Panganiban on Instagram, Cruz thanked God, his girlfriend, his family, fans and friends, as well as his co-workers.
The caption of the photo read: "Thank you love. Nilukot mo mukha ko tapos nabasa mga mata ko. I dont deserve it. Salamat... Sayo,sa diyos,sa pamilya ko. Salamat for youve always believed in me. Sa lahat ng mga nanood, kay bea,kay ati van (our writer),kay junjun (our dop) kay tita malou at sa buong star cinema at sa nag-iisang olivia lamasan. --- ang mensahe po ng BOX OFFICE KING ❤ @beaalonzo @micodelrosario."
