Pinoy MMA fighters lined up in ONE FC's Manila card

MANILA – Filipino MMA fighters Eduard “Landslide” Folayang and Kevin Belingon will be joining Honorio “The Rock” Banario in the ONE FC card taking place in Manila next month.

Folayang, a multi-awarded Wushu expert, will be taking on UFC veteran and submission specialist Kamal Shalorus of Iran.

The Folayang-Shalorus bout will take place at the lightweight division of the ONE FC: Rise to Power event.

Meanwhile, Belingon will go up against Masakatsu Ueda in the Bantamweight Grand Prix finals.

“The Silencer” Belingon is expected to utilize his fast hands and devastating low kicks against Bellator vet Ueda.

Ueda, a former Shooto featherweight champion, boasts of a 17-2-2 record.

Also joining the stacked up card is former UFC slugger Phil Baroni who will take on Nobutatsu Suzuki.

Baroni, known for his one-punch knockout power, will be having his hands full against Suzuki, who also uses an all-or-nothing fighting style.

The card is scheduled to take place at the Mall of Asia Area on May 31, which features Banario’s featherweight title defense against Japanese submission specialist Koji Oishi.

In the co-main feature, Brazil’s Bibiano Fernandes will tackle Japanese MMA sensation Koetsu Okazaki for the ONCE FC interim bantamweight crown.

“I’m beyond excited to see Honorio Banario back in action in front of his home crowd at the state-of-the art Mall of Asia Arena. Bibiano Fernandes taking on Koetsu Okazaki has all the ingredients for a possible Fight of the Night with one of the world’s greatest pound-for-pound fighters squaring off against a Japanese submission artist who is known for his impressive grappling game. I know fans cannot wait to watch these warriors collide on 31 May,” said ONE FC’s chief executive officer Victor Cui.
