After Heat win, Nike lets fans leave message to LeBron

MANILA, Philippines – Minutes after the Miami Heat won Game 7 of the NBA finals against the San Antonio Spurs, sportswear giant Nike launched a campaign where fans can leave a voice message to one of its star players, LeBron James.

Nike’s “Leave a Message” campaign was introduced via a YouTube video, which showed an answering machine and voice messages from “basketball luminaries and influential figures for James,” such as Spike Lee, Warren Buffet, Dr. Dre, Coach K, Phil Knight, Drake, Bill Russell and kids from The LeBron James Family Foundation.

At the end of the spot is a phone number (305-767-2226) which fans can call to leave James a personal message, Nike said in a statement.

James, who was named the most valuable player of the NBA Finals for the second consecutive year, led Miami Heat to a 4-3 win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Meanwhile, Nike also released a limited edition “championship pack,” which includes two pairs of shows, two hats and a T-shirt, as tribute to James and his team’s victory.

The first pair of footwear is the Lebron X PS Elite, which was worn by James in Game 1 of the 2013 finals. The other is the Lebron X Low, which has the words “2-time champion” and “11-12, 12-13,” to celebrate James’s championship.

The two shoes and hats will be available in limited stocks in North America and China, while the T-shirts will hit stores worldwide early next week, Nike said.
