MANILA – Television host Kris Aquino and actress Heart Evangelista are among the celebrities who were invited to listen to President Benigno Aquino III’s State of the Nation Address at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.
Kris, the President’s youngest sister, opted for a simple yet elegant look as she wears a fuschia off shoulder dress, which she matched with minimal jewelry and barely there makeup.
In a post on the photo-sharing website Instagram, Kris thanked Cary Santiago, Juan Sarte, Eric Pe Benito, John and Paul Herrera, and Nante and Bang Pineda for her look in this year’s SONA.
Another post showed her posing for a photo with designer Paul Cabral and her three sisters – Ballsy, Pinky and Viel – wearing yellow and beige gowns.
Evangelista, meanwhile, attends Aquino’s fourth SONA to accompany her boyfriend, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero. The former ABS-CBN talent is wearing a white terno, which matches Escudero’s barong Tagalog.
Actress Dawn Zulueta, wife of Davao del Norte Rep. Anton Lagdameo, is seen wearing a grey Filipiniana gown by Cary Santiago. The designer uploaded a photo of Zulueta and Lagdameo on Instagram on Monday.
Earlier today, Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado posted a photo of her and her colleagues in Congress, with the actress-politician wearing what looks like a modern take on the women’s barong and a pair of slacks.
Also spotted walking on the red carpet are Lucy Torres-Gomez in a grey terno by Randy Ortiz, and director and Taguig Rep. Lino Cayetano in a barong Tagalog by JC Buendia.
