According to his co-anchor Ces Oreña-Drilon, Babao is now recovering after undergoing appendectomy, the surgical removal of the vermiform appendix.
Babao's wife Christine Bersola-Babao earlier posted on Instagram a photo of his husband undergoing an abdominal CT scan.
As with Drilon, co-anchors Karen Davila and Boy Abunda wished Babao well so he may return to work in full health.
Meanwhile, Babao said on his Twitter account that he would not be able to work for "a couple of days."
