MANILA -- Filipino-American singer Ellona Santiago made it to the Top 16 of "The X Factor USA."
Before her performance, Santiago recalled how she used to live in the Philippines until her parents saved enough money for them to move to the United States.
Santiago then performed "Clarity" by Zedd.
Judges Kelly Rowland and Simon Cowell loved Santiago's performance.
"You little momma, you are a beast. I mean, in the nicest way possible. You don't look like a beast, you sound like a beast," Rowland said.
"Ellona, it's probably one of the best vocals we've heard from this category. I can't imagine you actually not being here in this competition...I think this girl is one of the better singers," Cowell said.
In the end, coach Demi Lovato decided to give Ellona a chance and included her in her Top 4. Another contestant, Jamie Pineda, was sent home.
