Eufritz Santos, a Manila-native, admitted that she joined the contest to hone her voice and added that her dream is to score a duet with former "Got To Believe" star Padilla.
"Gusto ko po maka-duet si Daniel kasi crush ko po siya," she said.
The 11-year-old performed 'Kyla's Hanggang Ngayon.' Her high notes and choice of song was enough to convince the judges -- Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, and Bamboo Manalac -- to press their respective buttons.
"Favorite na favorite ko 'yang kantang yan. Ang sakit-sakit 'pag pinapakinggan mo. Mayroon kang sariling style. Alam ko naman for sure na hindi ka pa nasaktan sa pag-ibig pero ramdam namin 'yung pain mo. Saan nanggaling 'yun?" asked Geronimo.
Salonga and Manalac then battled it out for the budding singer, noting both her strengths and weaknesses, and bragging about what they can do for her.
"I have to be honest, you were all over the place. Pero I heard one thing that I really like, 'yung high register mo. 'Pag kumakanta ka nang mataas, sobrang pristine. It sounded really good," Manalac said.
"There's some stuff we need to work on. This is going to be fun. Hindi ako istriktong coach..." Salonga explained before being interrupted.
"Pero mas masaya sa Camp Kawayan (the name of Manalac's team). I will work with you para maayos 'yung mga ibang bagay so it fits together like a puzzle. Mangyayari lang 'yun if you sign up with me," he said.
In the end, Santos joined Team Salonga. She is one of the three contestants to do so, with the other two being Lorenzo Cinco and Renzwill Michael Viray.
Moments after her audition aired, fans of Padilla and Bernardo began voicing out their support for Santos on Twitter. It propelled her name to the 2nd spot of the microblogging site's worldwide trends.
"The Voice Kids," which is hosted by Luis Manzano and Alex Gonzaga, airs Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. and on Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
