Fil-Am featured in HBO's new documentary
MANILA - A Filipino-American actress is among the group of Asian Americans featured in the latest installment of HBO's "East of Main Street: Taking the Lead".
Veronica Reyes-How expressed how honored she was to be part of the project that featured big names of actors of Asian descent like BD Wong and Lucy Liu.
On her website www.imveronicareyes.com, she wrote: "It was a huge honor, and made me ABSOLUTELY terrified."
Reyes-How does not only know how to perform. This Fil-Am is actually a Mathematics degree graduate of the University of Michigan.
She moved to New York City after college and became part of the hit musical "Rent."
Other musical theater projects she participated in were "25th Annual Putnam County Speling Bee", "Skippy Jon Jones", "Miss Saigon" and "Yellow Brick Road".
Reyes-How did not only limit her talent to the theater industry. She also played various roles in several television series and films like CBS's "Blue Blood", NBC's "The Blacklist", Nickolodeon's "Team Umizoomi", Monday Morning Productions' "He's With Me", and By the Bay Productions' "Project Seal".
The new documentary "showcases a select group of Asian Americans in various stages of their movie and television careers," HBO stated.
The cast also includes Daniel Dae Kim, Aasif Mandvi, Russell Wong, Lucille Soong, Jimmy O. Yang, Melanie Kannokada, Dennis Oh, Sheetal Sheth, Raymond J. Lee, Nivedita Kulkarni, Tobias Wong, Michelle Goike and Katarina Zhu.
"East of Main Street: Taking the Lead" is produced and directed by Jonathan Yu with Louis Tancredi and Chrissie Hines as executive producers.
