Fil-Am mom killed in Brussels terror attack


REDWOOD CITY, California – A Filipino-American woman was killed in last week's deadly terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium.

Gail Minglana Martinez, 41, died in the March 22 explosion at the Brussels airport.

Her husband, Air Force Lt. Col. Kato Martinez, and their four children, were injured in the blast and remain hospitalized, according to her uncle David Minglana.

The children are reportedly recovering from burns they sustained from the explosion, while their father is in intensive care.

Gail counts among 35 people who were killed in the attacks that also injured more than 300.

Reports say Gail is the daughter of a US Navy sailor who immigrated from the Philippines. She was a graduate of Flour Bluff High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.
