NBA roundup: Warriors seize best record from Clippers
MANILA, Philippines — Steph Curry and co. are finding their stride.
Another beatdown of the Los Angeles Lakers shoved the Golden State Warriors atop the NBA standings.
Curry scored 24 points and made four triples, and teammate Kevin Durant finished with 29 as the Warriors routed the undermanned Lakers 109-85 on Friday.
The Warriors have now won 10 straight since losing to the Lakers 117-97 on Nov. 5 to up their record to 14-2 and move past the Los Angeles Clippers for league's best record.
The Clippers fell to 14-3 after they lost to the Detroit Pistons 108-97.
The Lakers, who fell to the Warriors 149-106 on Wednesday, were severely hampered with three key players sidelined. D'Angelo Russell (knee) will be out for two weeks, while Julius Randle (hip) and Nick Young (toe) were unavailable.
The San Antonio Spurs kept within striking distance of the Warriors and Clippers by beating the Boston Celtics 109-103 to remain undefeated on the road after nine games and boost their record to 13-3.
In the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers rode another brilliant performance by Kevin Love to dismantle the Dallas Mavericks 128-90.
Two nights after he scored 34 points in a quarter and eight triples against the Portland Trailblazers on Wednesday, Love finished with 27 points and 7 of 9 shooting from behind the arc as the Cavaliers (12-2) cruised past the league-worst Mavericks (2-13).
Kyrie Irving added 25 points and LeBron James had 19 points and 11 assists.
In New York, Carmelo Anthony stuffed the stat sheet with 35 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and two steals to help the Knicks (8-7) beat the Charlotte Hornets (8-7) 113-111 in overtime.
Anthony scored the tiebreaker with three seconds left in the extra period as New York went above .500 for the first time this season.
Three teams are tied for second in the East behind the Cavaliers — the Toronto Raptors, Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls all have identical 10-6 records.
In Milwaukee, the Raptors rode DeMar DeRozan's 26 points and a clutch basket with 16 seconds left in the game to beat the Bucks 105-99.
In Philadelphia, Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade each had 26 points as the Bulls ran away with a 105-89 victory over the 76ers.
In Salt Lake City, Gordon Hayward scored 24 points, George Hill 23, and Rudy Gobert had 10 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks as the Utah Jazz crushed the Hawks 95-68.
