Samsung brings 'infinity display' branding to smaller, cheaper J6
MANILA -- Samsung has announced the Galaxy J6, bringing its nearly full screen display to a smaller and cheaper package.
The J6 is the third Samsung phone to be released this month, after the Galaxy A6 and A6+ and will compete with recent midrange releases from Huawei and Asus.
The P13,990 J6 has a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED "infinity display," the same size as the one on the A6 but smaller than the 6-inch A6+. It has a plastic shell compared to metal on the A6 line.
Samsung is positioning the J6 as an entertainment machine, with its Dolby ATMOS stereo capability. The phone runs on a 1.6 GHz Exynos 7870 processor, has 32 GB of on-board storage which is expandable to up to 256 GB, and with 3 GB of RAM.
The J6 can run dual SIM cards and a micro SD card at the same time. It has 13 megapixel and 8 megapixel cameras, a 3,000 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0. It will be available on Saturday.
